THE OLIVE TREE — ROOTED IN GREEK WISDOM

Since ancient Greece, the olive tree has been regarded as far more than a cultivated plant — it has been a symbol of wisdom, peace, abundance, victory and continuity of life. In the spiritual view of Rudolf Steiner, the tree may also be understood as a living bridge between Earth and Light: deeply rooted in the soil, shaped by the forces of nature and time, yet reaching upward toward the heavens. Its wood carries within it the memory of years and seasons, while its long life connects generations of human beings. For the Morfeas family, this ancient relationship with the olive continues through three generations — rooted in the land, guided by tradition, and carried forward into the future

A Heritage of Olive Cultivation

For three generations, the Morfeas family has been connected to the land and to the ancient olive-growing tradition of Greece.

Our family’s story began in Issari, Arcadia, in the Peloponnese, where our ancestors were farmers and cultivated the traditional Kalamata olive, generation after generation. The olive trees were not simply a crop; they were part of our family’s life, our land and our heritage.

Later, this tradition expanded to Alevarada, the village of Emmanuel Morfeas’ wife, in the Acarnanian Mountains of Aetolia-Acarnania, Central Greece, where the family cultivated the traditional Konservolia olive, another variety deeply rooted in the agricultural history of Greece.

Through three generations, the knowledge of cultivating, caring for and harvesting olive trees was passed from parents to children. Respect for the soil, the seasons and the character of each olive tree became an essential part of our family tradition.

In recent years, this ancestral connection with the olive tree has evolved into the production of exceptional Greek extra virgin olive oil, combining traditional knowledge with modern methods of harvesting, extraction and preservation.

Today, Emmanuel Morfeas continues this family journey — not simply as a producer of olive oil, but as a custodian of a living heritage that began generations ago among the ancient olive groves of Greece.

The Personal Side of Emmanuel Morfeas

Beyond olive oil, Emmanuel Morfeas has always been passionate about nature, movement and human wellbeing.

He studied at State University of New York, obtaining an Associate Degree. In his youth, he was a dedicated long-distance runner, achieving a 1:40 record in the 21 km International Ermioni Race.

He later studied German Homotoxicology and natural therapeutic approaches through seminars over many years. He also trained for many years in Tai Chi and Respiratory Kinesiology under Master Christos Karagiannis, Silver Medalist at the World Tai Chi Championship in China.

Today, Emmanuel teaches Respiratory Kinesiology in Athens voluntarily, as a personal passion, combining conscious breathing, movement and philosophy with the aim of supporting the wellbeing of others.

Because, in the end, life is not measured by how much money we take with us, but by how much love we leave behind in the world.
